A great occasion at the Samurai Olympic Judo Club.
The 60th anniversary of THE SAMURAI and the 90th birthday of ALAN PETHERBRIDGE. The event was led by BRIAN JACKS, a former member of The Samurai when as a very young senior judoka he prepared along side Peth for the 1964 Tokyo Olympic at The Samurai. Both Peth & Brian competed in the Tokyo Olympics 1964. Brian won the first of Britain’s medals at a World Championships taking a bronze in Salt Lake City 1967 and gained a second bronze at the 1972 Munich Olympics (Robert Sullivan from The Samurai competed along side Brian at the 1972 Munich Olympics ).
